Bed Bug Heat Treatment and General Pest Control for Indiana Medicaid Waiver Members
Are you or someone you care about on an Indiana Medicaid waiver, or possibly eligible for one, and dealing with bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas, mice, or other pests at home? These waivers include the Health & Wellness Waiver, PathWays for Aging Waiver, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waiver.
Knight Pest Control provides Medicaid-covered bed bug, flea, and cockroach heat treatment, plus general pest control, for members who qualify. We are an approved Indiana FSSA HCBS waiver provider for the Health & Wellness and TBI Waivers, and an in-network PathWays provider with Anthem, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare, in every county we serve. Heat treatment is our specialty.
Already on one of these waivers? Ask your case manager or care coordinator for Knight Pest Control by name. Not sure we serve your area? Call us first at 765-465-5393.
How it works: Your case manager or care coordinator confirms pest control is available under your plan and contacts us. We assess the pest problem and send a treatment proposal to your case manager or care coordinator for review. Once approved, we reach out to you to schedule your treatment.
Not enrolled, but think you or a loved one may qualify? Many people don’t know these programs exist. See Who to Call to Get Started below for the right number based on your age.
Pest Control Services for Medicaid Waiver Members
Bed Bug Heat Treatment
Bed bug heat treatment is our specialty. We bring every treated room to 130°F-160°F and hold those temperatures for a prolonged soak, using fans to move hot air into cracks, crevices, and concealed hiding places. We move beds and furniture so heat surrounds every side and reaches all the way through them. We use thermal guns to check temperatures throughout each room, including on mattresses, furniture, walls, floors, and baseboards. The soak lasts long enough to kill every stage of the bed bug life cycle, eggs included. Whole-home treatment takes a full day. Clients complete the required preparation before treatment. Learn more on our Bed Bug Treatments page.
You do not have to throw away your beds, furniture, or belongings. We heat everything thoroughly and hold that heat long enough to kill the bed bugs, so you can keep them.
Heat Treatment for Fleas
Flea problems can involve repeated chemical treatments and continued daily vacuuming over several weeks. Heat offers a one-day treatment option that can reduce the need for repeated chemical visits and prolonged vacuuming. Heat reaches cracks, crevices, and areas behind baseboards, along with furniture, household belongings, and concealed hiding places where chemicals cannot be applied, killing fleas at every stage, from eggs to adults. Learn more about our flea treatments.
Heat Treatment for Cockroaches
Cockroach infestations extend beyond the insects visible in the kitchen. Cockroaches hide in cracks, around appliances, and in the spaces behind walls and cabinets. We combine heat with a targeted chemical treatment. When lethal temperatures are reached and maintained, heat reaches concealed hiding places like behind walls, cabinets, and appliances, where chemicals cannot be applied. The chemical treatment adds protection in the areas where cockroaches travel. Clients complete the required preparation. Learn more on our Cockroach Extermination page.
General Pest Control
We also treat mice, rats, ants, spiders, yellowjackets, bald-faced hornets, carpenter bees, stink bugs, earwigs, and more. Learn more on our Pest Services page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Indiana Medicaid pay for bed bug treatment? Will I have to pay anything?
Pest control is a covered service under Indiana’s HCBS waivers. When it’s approved through your waiver program or health plan, we bill them directly, so in most cases you pay nothing out of pocket.
Do I need to know which waiver I am on before I call?
No. Your case manager or care coordinator can confirm your program. You are also welcome to call us with questions.
Will I have to throw away my bed or furniture?
No. When Knight Pest Control heat treats your home, we heat your beds, furniture, and belongings thoroughly and long enough to kill the bed bugs, so you can keep them.
Does heat kill bed bug eggs?
Yes, absolutely. Eggs are the hardest stage to kill, which is why we hold the heat for a prolonged soak.
What about my electronics?
Most household electronics stay in the home, unplugged, during heat treatment. Bed bugs, cockroaches, and fleas can hide inside electronics, so we heat them to a temperature that kills the insects while monitoring delicate items and removing them as needed. Your preparation sheet covers anything that needs special handling.
How do I prepare?
We make it simple. Before treatment, we give you a preparation sheet and go over it with you step by step, answering any questions along the way. If anything comes up before your treatment, just give us a call.
How long will I need to be out of my home?
Plan to be out of your home for about 12 hours, including treatment and cool-down time. We’ll let you know when you can return.
Which Indiana counties do you serve for waiver pest control?
We provide full-service pest control, including heat treatment, in Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hancock, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Union, and Wayne counties. In our extended service counties (Boone, Decatur, Grant, Hamilton, Hendricks, Howard, Johnson, Marion, and Tipton), we provide bed bug, flea, and cockroach heat treatment. Call us to see if we can help with other pest control in those counties.
